You're scared. So was I.

"Most people aren't willing to admit their flaws, insecurities & weaknesses.
Those people will live in misery, with undiscovered potential & fake happiness."

Reader, I believe 95% of people live in misery.

Misery, pain & discomfort.

Before I tell you why, I always like to start with a positive:

I'm writing this email on the beach in Portugal on Costa Da Caparica [just outside Lisbon].

I've been coming to this beach for the past 30 years to visit my family, it holds a special place in my heart.

But it's strange because really nothing here has changed apart from a few new restaurants here and there.

My life feels incredibly evolved.

It's like nothing has changed, but everything is different...

Back to the harsh truth:

Most people are not willing to admit their flaws, insecurities or weaknesses.

I get it, because the most difficult thing I've ever had to do was admit to myself I was insecure, unconfident, anxious and a relentless overthinker & procrastinator.

I finally dared to admit to myself that I needed to change because I found a solution.

The solution was a System of Success.

[See my formula below to see what not to do so you can figure out what exactly to do].

What most people don't realise is that it doesn't make you a bad or unworthy person to have insecurities or deficiencies.

This is what we're scared of; an attack on our identity.

My client Jamie, the CEO of a 12-year-old recruitment business was able to put his ego aside and face the truth.

I want to tell you a little story about how we met and why that could be relevant to you.

It started in a back-and-forth on LinkedIn 3 years ago.

We then took it to the DMs after around 9 months and he became a client.

3 years on and 70+ coaching sessions later, we finally met in person.

What I realised through this experience is that business isn't solely about making money [although it does help].

Business is about relationships and impact for me.

The impact I can make in someone's life gives me more joy than money ever could.

Last week Jamie treated me to an amazing steak in London at Roast - check it out if you're in London...But I remember our first conversation, he said;

"I know I've got the potential to take this business far & do great things,
I just don't want to sacrifice the truly important things to me.."

Little did he know, this was TRUE high-performance.

Like many of us, he's still working on certain aspects of his life & business.
Things have been far from plain sailing for him.
But he knows when he's getting overwhelmed & is willing to admit it.

This makes the situation a lot less painful for a lot less time.

Your life or situation has to be really uncomfortable to change.

You have to get to a point where you just can't take it anymore.

Unless you have this:

Real awareness.

Awareness of a compelling vision or goal ahead of you.

Somewhere that seems a lot more appealing than where you are now.

And when you live like this, you don't have to let yourself get to rock bottom to change because you can recognise the patterns of falling into certain traps.

I've been at rock bottom twice in my life, the first time I didn't know I was there because I covered it up with toxic distractions and the second I knew exactly where I was.

It's fair to say, I've failed many times.

This is my proven formula to fail at any endeavour you set yourself:

  • Don't set goals.
  • Don't prepare.
  • Don't create systems.
  • Don't set accountability.
  • Don't celebrate the small wins.
  • Follow what everyone else is doing.
  • Don't seek help from an expert or specialist.

#Bonus point:

  • Keep your ego inflated at all times

I was reading today, and I came up with this concept that I thought might be useful to share:

Reading anything will expand your mind & communication.

Reading good things will improve your awareness & knowledge.

Reading the right things will encourage you to develop your own ideas & concepts.
