“All you need are these: the certainty of judgment in the present moment; action for the common good in the present moment; and an attitude of gratitude in the present moment for anything that comes your way.”
- Marcus Aurelius

Hey Reader, I missed last week's newsletter...Yes, I'm guilty of slacking too! I've had 6 talks in the past 2 weeks on top of my usual coaching clients & other business hats, it all got a bit too much.

We all have moments when life takes over, and the routines we value like fitness, take a back seat.

After years of coaching leaders, business owners, and entrepreneurs to build systems for their mind, body & business, I’m realising my business systems have taken priority & push health & fitness to number 2.

I still get the basics nailed - for me that’s easy, but I know I have more potential to get into better shape & to elevate my energy & focus.

So it’s time to lead by example and focus on my own fitness journey again.

Here’s my plan to restart, and I hope it inspires you to do the same if you’re in a similar place.

  1. Simplicity

I’ve worked with enough CEOs to know that overcomplicating things leads to burnout. My fitness plan will focus on just 4 sessions a week:

  • 3 Strength and Muscle-Building Workouts: Focused on compound movements & accessory exercises.
  • 1 Fitness Session/Run: This session will be about elevating my heart rate, burning calories & getting a crazy sweat on.

2. Systemisation

Success isn’t about motivation - it’s about systems. I’ll be dedicating specific times in my week to train and building my calendar around these priorities (for me the best time is to do it before my day starts because as soon as I open my laptop, my mind is just focused on work & I find it difficult to transition).

If you’re struggling to stick to your workouts, try adding them to your schedule just like a business meeting. Non-negotiable time blocks are game changers.

3. Accountability

I have multiple accountability partners; my girlfriend, my friend who I train with, my clients, my mentor and my future self. I’ll also track my progress using an online journal I’ve been designing, so I can reflect and refine along the way.

If you’re starting over, lean on a friend, coach, or even a tracking app to keep you honest and consistent.

4. Mental Fitness Leads To Physical Fitness

One of the most important lessons I teach is to detach from the outcome. Life is going to present you the opportunity to grow & become mentally fit, use it.

The only reason I’m slacking at the moment is because mentally I wasn’t focused on my physical health, not because I didn’t have time.

Celebrate the wins & gradually develop habits.

Restarting Doesn’t Mean Starting Over

If you’re like me and feel you’ve fallen off track, remember: restarting isn’t failing - it’s recalibrating.

Every action today sets the tone for tomorrow so do the work today [in the most simple way] to reap the rewards tomorrow and forever on.

If you want to join me in restarting your journey, reply to this email with your goals and intentions; then automatically you're accountable to me...
